Two years. So much remains unwritten, unsaid, unimagined. And the grief remains.

But this one is for you, Refaat Alareer, one of greatest of β€œPalestinian stone-throwers in the first Intifada.”

#TheSouthernEye by Yousif M. Qasmiyeh, Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh & Saiful Huq Omi links (and embodies how to link) memories and experiences of exile, displacement and genocide from Palestine to the rest of the world. Achingly beautiful, wise and profound!

#ReadPalestine Day 5 #AMapofHome by Randa Jarrar is a stunning, brave, brash, poignant, hilarious, all-together brilliant novel. If revolution is powered by joy (and vice versa) this book shows how revolutions are intimate, personal, familial and public. All at once!

December Month of Action for Xinachtli Texas is killing Xinachtli Read and join us in taking action to prevent another revolutionary elder from dying in prison

What's happening
Xinachtli (Alvaro Hernandez) is a 73 year old Chicano revolutionary organizer who has survived 23 years of solitary confinement under the Texas carceral system.
Today, his health has collapsed under the weight of state violence: rapid weight loss, multiple falls, severe mobility issues, and increasing difficulty breathing. He is being held in the McConnell Unit infirmary under so-called palliative care, yet denied real medical treatment, denied diagnosis, and denied access to his own medical records.

During his time in the infirmary, prison staff threw away his belongings, "lost" his commissary card, and have intentionally given him incorrect forms to obstruct medical visitations and access to care. Xinachtli is hungry, isolated, and his health is rapidly declining. the state has made it clear that they intend to let him die.

*** For people in the US, there's really no excuse....less than half of the 15-minute phone shifts have sign-ups filled out for today. This has widely shared on socials, and yet we are still not meeting the moment for Xinachtli with the urgency it deserves.

We repeat, ANYONE can make these calls

In fact it's worth showing more of what Stanley said about 1865 West Africa Committee: History Reclaimed probably aren't aware of it but their rhetoric on reparations too echoes his uncannily:

Protip for good white people: there IS a answer when asked β€œare you racist?”

You simply say: β€œbeing born and raised in white supremacy means all of us hold and racialised worldviews. But I am learning about racism and working on changing my worldview and myself.”
