Itβs disappointing to see Liberals interfere once again in the bargaining process by ordering a vote of CUPW membership. This undermines the union and sends a message to management that delay is rewarded. Free collective bargaining is a core right in a democracy.

With all the hate going on against Tesla's now, I decided to write our Congressman. I highly encourage all of you do the same. Just in the news today, they burnt down an entire charging station in Boston, MassachusettsοΏΌ, and it seems that many of the Bay Area Tesla Service Centers are being infiltrated with protestors daily (vandalising brand new Tesla's, and harassing customers). Here is what I wrote: Subject: Addressing Harassment and Violence Against Tesla Owners Dear Congressman Garamendi, I am writing to seek your assistance in addressing the growing harassment, hostility, and violence directed toward Tesla owners across California and the United States. You may be aware of the increasing incidents involving vandalism, road rage, and targeted aggression toward individuals simply because they own and drive a Tesla. As both a concerned citizen and a 24-year retired military veteran, I find it deeply troubling that owning an American-made vehicle has made meβand many othersβa target for unjustified hostility. I have personally experienced multiple alarming incidents. On one occasion, while driving on I-80, another driver deliberately attempted to run me off the road. In another unsettling encounter, while washing my car in my own driveway, a stranger drove up, hurled insults at me, and then left while running stops signs. Reviewing my HOA security footage, I confirmed that this individual had never been in my neighborhood before, making it clear that I was specifically targeted. Beyond my personal experiences, I am a member of several Tesla owner forums where widespread reports of similar attacks are being shared. Owners are facing physical threats, vandalism, and intimidation simply because of their vehicle choice. Reports in the media highlight incidents of Tesla charging stations being burned, Tesla service centers being vandalized, and Tesla vehicles being spray-painted or otherwise damaged. McMillan Cottom: I thought about how we have an economy with perverse incentives and impact. If billionaires and C.E.O.s want to enjoy the spoils of power, visibility and access in our celebrity culture, they have to understand that they are in essence a public entity β a stand-in for industry but also for politics. I make this point because the moralizing about the public response to the killing conflates a personal dimension of this story - a murder and the fallout for the victim's family β with the public dimension, about industries that affect and control our lives, our futures, our pain. A family lost their kin and a community lost a member. That is a personal tragedy. At the same time, a public actor was presumably targeted because he had a tremendous amount of power over people's well-being. The system has to make a profit and, in doing so, the system victimizes a lot of people.
Such a good point by Tressie McMillan Cottom. If preening billionaires like Musk, Trump, and Ramaswamy who revel in their performative obnoxiousness crash the economy or slash Social Security or Medicare, then that populist rage theyβve stoked might come back to bite them.
