White is also kind of just Like That. It’s much faster to prime with light grey that covers instantly and then use white over that. White alone just does an awful job hiding any colors below it

It’s like wondering how far you can drive on thin tires before they explode. There’s no specific, predictive answer, but do you really want to take that chance?

“Gloss coat” is paint. If you’re gloss coating a kit, you are painting it with clear paint, ergo it’s fine for Tamiya to go over it

You could also try Stedi, which has a new water-based accent liner that’s supposed to work like Tamiya’s but without the break risks. I haven’t used it myself, but every color is in my cart because that would be super nice for 3rd party ABS kits that don’t play nice with Gundam marker OR Tamiya

Unless you are painting first, that is a mistake. Tamiya is enamel which embrittles plastic. It doesn’t guarantee every use will crack your kits, but eventually it WILL crack something. It’s a risk every single time

Gundam pour type is formulated for bare plastic and will never crack anything

Just finished test fitting the gun from the Monument [Repair Type], some unfortunate c-clips in the moving parts, but not too much to worry about. This thing is ludicrously big.

I had my first kanji recognition in the wild when the SNAA kit I’m building had 金 in it. It was referring to a gold option part

Then I recognized 水 next to the image of water decals right afterwards 😆

The kit is Chinese, but in this case those kanji mean the same thing in both languages
