this is especially true for my particular flavor of ADHD, where a certain amount of workflow friction can grind my brain to a screeching halt. it's worth putting in the work to prevent those moments, even if it's annoying.

there's an extent to which that kind of flexibility can be useful! sometimes I just need to buckle down and get something done, workflow issues be damned. but there's a cost to letting things slide, and it gets heavier the more you do it.

trying to become the kind of person who fixes workflow snags immediately in the moment, as opposed to the kind of person I currently am, a person who tends to put up with workflow snags because the thought of fixing it seems more inconvenient than just pressing on

i'm now rewatching this even tho it's only been a month because it really is that good. i'm heliocentrism-pilled. it's orbin' time.

been spending my afternoon doing tutorials on the various reaper nvk tools... i can feel myself transforming into a new kind of sound designer... one that is perhaps too fast for the world to handle...

but if you're thinking "wow, emily made a whole album out of non-musical home recordings, i would like to listen to that" then knock yourself out!

if you're thinking "emily is freshly unemployed, so i should buy her music because she needs the money," rest assured that i have enough savings to comfortably float for now, and you should spend that money on a more precarious artist imo

a day late, but one last birthday thought: having an Oct 1st birthday is cool bc everyone's posting Sept 30 -> Oct 1st memes, folks switch to their spooky usernames, and people start getting excited about halloween. none of those things are about me or my bday, but it makes for fun background vibes.

it's the same tea set as before, but the diffuser is inside the mug, and you can see the little Korok charm hanging out with his Deku Tree mug buddy. it's cute as hell.

when I was working at the Retro office a bunch, I put this little tea set together out of a Deku Tree mug, a Korok charm I found on Etsy, and some antiques I dug up at Uncommon Objects. made my daily green tea ritual feel a little more special.
