Disabled isn't a dirty word, and it's fine to work through internalized ableism if you were raised thinking so. We live in an ableist world.

Embracing a label of "disabled" made me more confident in asking for accommodations. I can't get through a full work day in person without suffering in pain.

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!

If you want art you need to make sure artists can afford to live.

Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

It also helps to have people order through Bookshop if we set you as the bookstore where we want profits to go, right?

(I know buying directly from you is better, but I'm hoping this is an effective way to trick family members into using an online registry that actually supports indie bookstores.)

Saddened to learn of the passing of Alice Wong. Her disability advocacy work was important, and the best way to honor it is to continue it however we can.

One of my favorite things about old census records is when you can see that the census taker has misspelled the name, and when you say the misspelling aloud, you can clearly hear the correct name in the accent that the ancestor would have had.

I turned off all the smart features in my gmail bc i couldn't figure out which ones fed their ai gremlin machine, and now they're like "FINE we won't put your mail into categories" but joke's on them bc now i'm deleting everything aka i will continue to NEVER PAY FOR MORE STORAGE
