Day 48 of ??? of my learning to code journey! Today was a massive game of "my code works but the software disagrees" so that was frustrating - the solution? Use a totally different syntax than when the site asked me to do it last time 🙃. I guess that's coding sometimes. @freecodecamp.bsky.social

Day 47 of ??? of my learning to code journey. Today was a whopper of a workshop where an entire cityscape is created using only <div> and CSS - and it is responsive, turns to a night scape using a @media enquiry! cool stuff!

Should be laws to make all battery operated devices be able to be operated without their battery. Laptops can live long lives as media servers, HTPCs, NAS (NASes?) or just be relegated to coding random microcontrollers.

After a bad impression from last week's unboxing, I took a closer look at the #arduinouno Q. I look at not only getting the board working, but the App Labs software as well.

I really wanted to like the new #Arduino Uno Q. It had a lot of potential and looked interesting.
I continued to play with it for over an hour after last night's stream. My overall impression is it's too expensive, and too complex for the Maker Community.
Such a shame.

FreeCodeCamp.org's full stack developer course progress. HTML has all steps completed. CSS has 763 of 1156 completed. JS, Front End Libraries, Python, Relational Databases, Backend Javascript and Career categories have no completion

Day 42 of ??? of my learning to code journey. I have to admit I fell off the train for a bit because I hated a lab, but this morning I decided to skip that lab until later and move on - so I finished some new HTML workshop and tomorrow is a new day! Course by @freecodecamp.bsky.social

My @linuxmint.com install kept freezing and my @pop-os.bsky.social had horrible screen tearing and laggy video playback, neither install was able to mount an NTFS drive and share it via Samba despite following guides. I went back to W10 in under 48 hours. Old hardware but works perfectly on W10

So if a visual says what I need to say, I will rephrase more briefly and add the visual, and people who want to take time to study the visual will pause the video. Most people watch for entertainment so you can't let explanations get in the way of entertaining flow. Mind you I don't always manage.

On one hand, perfect is the enemy of done, but on the other hand, a high-quality video that jives with the audience will get you like 3 orders of magnitude more views. What I've been trying to do lately is cut the "say" in favor of the "show" when it comes to those decisions 1/2
