You know, with Am*z*n and B&N trying to run sales over Independent Bookstore Day, this seems like a pretty good week to crow about the cool stuff we do here. We're proud of this stuff, so we should tell you about it. So here's a thread...

I'm trying to get back into the writing routine after life derailed it. I'm hoping the LWS's #24hourwritingsprint helps me push through the last few chapters of my novel's first draft. One hour down and I've got over 500 words on the page 💪

GOP officials target LGBTQ+ displays in Largo, Palm Harbor library The libraries are the latest institutions to face GOP pushback over their support for LGBTQ+ children and teenagers.

GOP stands for genital-obsessed party. These two GOPers in Florida are trying to ban inclusive displays at their respective public libraries because, well, they can't stop thinking about what's in someone's pants.

Before you dunk on a Dem, a liberal, a leftist, or whoever your dunkee of choice, do your daily obstruction of fascism. Call someone in power. Go weed a community garden. Talk to your neighbor. Live like a human THEN go dunk. I'll never tell you to stop hating. But a life of JUST hate feels bad.

If you oppose DEI you should have to use the full phrase, “I oppose diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Bonus points if you add your points, “I oppose disabled veterans equal access to employment.” “I oppose mothers having jobs.”

Making it an acronym turns it into a thought-terminating cliche.

One of my favorite things about indie authors is how accessible they are! Like something about their story? Message them! Let them know!

I can guarantee you that absolutely nothing will make them happier than hearing from their readers directly :)

I started listening to @jamiattenberg.bsky.social's 1000 Words this morning after setting my ambitious writing goals for February.

They're only ambitious because I've been hibernating instead of writing.

I can't wait to incorporate portions of this book into my writing process motivation.
