This page is one single panel/illustration, showing cercerion throwing his head back in anguish as he is struck by a bright beam of light. The star in it's center represents the impact, and has kelan himself right behind it. Symbolically, kelan is drawn over the panel in bright red, matching cercerion's size and with his claws extended in the path of the missile, as if pushing it into cercerion's chest himself. He now wears his father's crown from the first page. The text reads "and just like the rain, you cast the dust into nothing, and wash out the salt from my hands, so touch me again I feel my shadow dissolving. will you cleanse me? with pleasure" There's extra notes that read >> RGCD detonation successful. >> eyewall force decreasing. >> storm line stable.

The first panel shows schematics for a missile, the titular 'KINGSLAYER', also called RGCD MKII. There's additional info pointing to different parts of it, such as 'anti-wind shear stabilization', 'E.M. resistant plating', 'chemical storage', 'storm injector', and 'will this really work?'. The text reads "i'm coiled up like the venomous serpent" The next panel is a mix of two images, a chart of atmospheric pressure rings on top, along coordinate calculations on the bottom. There's a traced hurricane trajectory in bright red over the top of both images, with the note "projected path - cercerion" next to it. The text reads "tangled in your trance and I'm certain you have got your hooks in me"

The top of this page shows two heraldic dragons besides a pillar of light behind the first panel. There's text that reads "I know, I know, I know how it goes" The first panel shows cercerion, now made of the storm, wings spread wide in the howling wind, with a shining red rimmed star before him. There's notes that point to him that says "target: cercerion" and a note that points to the start that reads "RGCD: armed". The text reads "you get what you give, you reap what you sow, and I can see you in my fate" Another gap between panels, showing the same red rimmed light pillar. The text reads "I know, I know, I know what I am" Next is two twin panels, one showing cercerion's mouth up close, crackling with lightning, and the other showing a closeup of Kelan's face, defiant. The text reads "the mouth of the wolf, the eyes of the lamb" The final panel finally reveals the pillar of light from before is the missile itself being fired, a red rimmed star with lightning surging from inside of it in the raging storm. there's a note over it that reads >> FIRE <<, and text that reads "so darling, will you saturate?"

[3/4] Fun fact, the chemical storage thing is based on the theory for cloud seeding as a possible solution to disrupt storms. But of course, it's coupled with a few other systems for disrupting storms and much stronger than our irl counterparts!

The scenery changes drastically. The first panel shows a stormy sky and rain starting, while the second panel shows kelan looking at the ground from a downwards POV and the rain falling around his paws. The text reads "and just like the rain you cast the dust into nothing, and wash out the salt from my hands." The next panel is zoomed out, showing the larger storm and many antennas in the background, for monitoring weather. Kelan looks up at the sky now, and the text reads "so touch me again I feel my shadow dissolving" The last panel focuses on his face again, he is now determinedly looking at the sky. In the groundwater cercerion's shadow is reflected. The text reads "will you cleanse me? with pleasure"

The first panel is a zoom-in on a dragons claws holding what looks like a missile. The rainfall has worsened. The text reads "it's that chemical cut that I can get down with" The next panel zooms out to show several dragons: Kelan and Lexios (who is holding the missile) in the foreground, and octane and sur in the far background. The text reads "up like the moon and out like the hounds" The next panel is a satellite shot of a hurricane from above, with the dragons' path traced on top of it. They are going towards the eye. There are four dragons total, and the info reads 'PAYLOAD' plus the callsigns for all of them: Prince (kelan) fever (lexios) octane (same name) and glare (sur). The text reads: "a dangerous disposition somehow" The next panel is a zoom of Kelans head with lightning striking behind him. The text reads "refracted in light" The last panel shows the four dragons really zoomed out, heading towards cercerion, who is now a massive behemoth inside the storm, dwarfing their size. The text reads 'reflected in sound'

[1/4] The satellite and antenna array on the second page is a weather/storm monitoring station!

I got so angry I ended up venting to both of my parents full of frustration and I feel validated because, as parents themselves, they got upset too lol
Shit's fucked. I genuinely hope kids being born today will be able to live normal happy lives...

Fuck it, every time someone brings up having kids I'm no longer just going to be "not interested" but I'm actually going to start listing all these problems together in a chain so hard they won't have any way to respond BECAUSE I KNOW THEY WENT THROUGH SAME JUST WONT ADMIT IT TO THEMSELVES

AND APPARENTLY! MY NIECE WAS THE SAME! when she was a baby my cousin was losing her mind and crying because "she wasn't developing fast enough" and once my cousin stopped listening to them it was so much healthier for both. My niece is running circles around me now, it all turned out fine.

Because the kid is learning at her own pace, so far they suspected that "the kid's long eyelashes might mean she has neurological issues" (she does not, they checked) OR that they aren't working with her enough, which is just not true in any way! The kid is stubborn and doing things her way. Jeez...

Sorry I'm just so pissed because my friend was forced to tell me "What she's not doing is NOT NORMAL" for her child sitting up by spreading her legs first then pushing herself off the ground with hands instead of side sit up?? What the fuck are they telling her at the care?? She'll get a hang of it!

My friend is doing a perfectly good job, she is spending hours upon hours WORKING with her child, she is so devoted she is buying into the whole shitshow of them telling her she's not working enough with her kid while she's worrying sick she's doing something wrong. The kid is FINE btw! Healthy!

"Oh no the youth doesn't want to have kids any more" and then once you do the whole system spits in your face and calls you a bad parent because you're "not spending enough time with the kids" while also forcing you to get back to work and pay for their kindergarten care and health....

"You want to extend your maternal leave because your baby is too stubborn to learn how to crawl? You suck as a patent I guess but sure here is the extension"
Meanwhile she can't have her at the kindergarten to start working again until the baby learns to crawl? But has to beg for the extension?

No not cuz having kids and raising them takes so much energy and time that I don't have but because of the way the system handles parenthood, health and jobs... "You're not working enough with your child", "she's not sitting up yet", "too slow"... Good forbid kids have their own pace growing up...

Every time I talk to my highschool friend who became a mom at the start of the year I get more reasons to never be a parent

What might be my favourite fossil has been just published by Kiat et al. 2025. Years ago I saw a pic of this Anchiornis specimen in nat geo article and I audibly gasped.preserving not only the feathers but also the original patterns as well. I made this drawing on the spot. Maybe its time to do v2.0

My photo shows a three quarter profile of an ancient Egyptian figurine of a leaping dog facing left. Carved from ivory, now a warm caramel brown colour with glossy surface. The dogs eyes are outlined in black, the ears are floppy, the mouth is slightly ajar (the inside of the mouth is painted red - not sen in my photo). The front and back legs are outstretched as if running at full speed. A lever under the dog’s chest opens and closes the mouth so that the dog looks as if it’s barking. Dimensions: L 18.2 cm × H 6.1 cm × W 3.6 cm. Dated to Late Dynasty I8, I400-I350 BC, reign of Amenhotep III who was Tutankhamun’s grandfather. The dog is mounted on a thin metal rod in a display case. In the background in the same display case is a ‘galloping’ brown horse, which is the handle of an ancient Egyptian fly whisk or light whip.

I don’t hate hyperrealism but I also don’t find it particularly interesting. I like a lot of personality in art, a lot of unspoken commentary (even or especially subconscious)
