i have an english degree where i did this method for like, four of the six books i had to read each week. you get the pleasure of some of a book, some of the surrounds of the book, and then getting to talk w people about it. and hey maybe you’ll get more read than u think!

i’m here to tell u that as long as they’re not reading bleeding edge new releases, you’ll be able to get by with some skim reading, summary reading, review reading, and then reading important chapters/bits if ppl mention them. and that’s a very worthwhile monthly pursuit! do it book club!

when i moved to scotland where the disability payment isn’t connected to income, my life got significantly better. not an ideal system either ofc and under direct threat at the moment but still. the irish system is so bonkers
