I don't disagree, but just a small point. The Los Seis de Boulder sculpture does exist on campus to commemorate the six activists killed in Boulder in 1974. It's worth a visit if you're on campus.

Whiskers are very energetically favorable, with near ideal lattice structures. Given the small surface regimes, it doesn’t surprise me that they form, particularly if the source substrate is strained, like, from cold soldering.
