#Penge artist-in-residence and occasional poet Cosmo Chancer has just found out that it's Yoko Ono's birthday today. So he's rushed out a poem in her honour.

Yoko, of course, was the inspiration behind Cosmo's first poetry collection. Buy it for Β£3 here: bit.ly/cosmoxyoko

A lot of language learners feel like they've plateaued at the intermediate level. Reading a lot of books helps, but there aren't many specifically designed to expand your vocab. Mamaliaid Prydain is. Pre-order here: www.kickstarter.com/... Pls share!

The start of the 'Sideways & Familiar' walk, led by poets Chris Jones and Andrew Hirst, in Sheaf Square, Sheffield, Saturday 17 October 2009. The walk began at the main train station in Sheffield (with readings in the goods yard), continuing to Brown Street (via a stepped passageway) for a further reading, on to a semi-enclosed space adjacent to FirstPoint (near Norfolk Street) for the third reading, through the Winter Gardens and into Upper Chapel courtyard for the fourth reading, past Sheffield Cathedral and down a side street for the fifth reading, and through a series of narrow passageways opening into Paradise Square for the final reading. Everything Eaten in One Year by E. Smoke (2006) In alphabetical order. Read by Elliot Smoke into a recording device with low batteries, affecting tape speed. The list appears in the Clod Books release

When i’m looking for a bit of light relief, I’m always very happy to remember that my friend Andy once made a list in a spreadsheet of everything he ate in one year, sorted it alphabetically and then read it out to a slow running tape recorder.

Stevenage New Town: β€˜Building for the new way of life’ From the arts and crafts estates – council-built – to the huge garden suburbs of the interwar period, we’ve followed a dream. And that dream came to fruition in Stevenage.

The eeriness of the English countryside Writers and artists have long been fascinated by the idea of an English eerie - β€˜the skull beneath the skin of the countryside’. But for a new generation this has nothing to do with hokey supernatural...

Even though it's an April 2015 article, 'The eeriness of the English countryside' by Robert Macfarlane (The Old Ways, Underland) is still a go-to for the detail and many links.

(Also contains a strange contextual picture of the Princess of Wales)
