I am not about to give up the bike lanes advocacy. Many of us do want walkable, bikeable city. No more penny from me to merchants on Bloor/Royal York.

Cycling to Toronto Flower Market along the Waterfront and up Strachan Avenue wasn’t so bad on this nice day, but the path is so incredibly bumpy. I bough apples at the farmers market along the way and they came home all bruised. Such are joys of Toronto. We take what we can.

Everything You Thought You Knew About Roads Is A Lie
YouTube video by Global Cycling Network Everything You Thought You Knew About Roads Is A Lie

As annoyed as I am when self-identified "avid cyclists" fight against bikes lanes, I love that the team at Global Cycling Network (which has 3.5M Youtube subscribers) is fully on team @thewaroncars.bsky.social.

Study shows cyclists are more concerned about the common good than drivers Researchers have shed light on a remarkable finding: cyclists exhibit a greater commitment to the common good compared to drivers

Cycling is not merely an environmentally friendly alternative to driving; it is a force that promotes social cohesion and a commitment to the well-being of the community.

I took this new Brompton G line for a ride today. It felt great. I am wondering if I should get it. I also test ridden C Line and since it was my first ride on a Brompton it felt a bit like a kid bike at least initially. I do want a foldable and a solid option. Should I join the lively cult?

What if the 'Tesla Takedown' Is Only the Beginning? β€” Streetsblog USA Tesla's cars have become symbols of Elon Musk's controversial role in U.S. politics β€” but they're also instruments of a violent system that long predates his time in the White House.

β€ž..widening highways and building hyperloops have never accomplished their ostensible goals of cutting congestion for average commuters and cars long-term. But those strategies do enrich a raft of automakers, sprawl-focused developers, and highway builders”

We need more bikeable walkable neighbourhoods not less. Etobicoke Bloor could be such a beautiful space Let’s not let the outsiders driving through the neighbourhood dictate what we want. Spend some time in bike friendly neighbourhoods to learn.

Jane's Walk Toronto | community building

Stopped at St. Lawrence Market yesterday. What a great urban planning in this whole area. I also remembered that Jane’ Walk is coming soon. I encourage Etobicoke residents so opposed to urban progress to enlighten themselves about walkable city many of us desire.

Spent some time in walkable, bikeable neighbourhood of David’s Crombie Park on my way to and from SoulPepper’s Kim’s Convenience. A play that’s very symbolic to immigrant experience in Toronto. Why can’t we have more neighbourhoods like it?

Yes to delicious Machino Donuts. Yes to bike friendly community way east of Royal York. High Park Bloor you’re so much more friendly to cyclists. From now on I am going to make sure I shop there rather than in my bike hating neighbourhood of Etobicoke.

You don’t support walkable bikeable community. Moreover you see nothing wrong in endangering cyclists forced to merge with intolerant, antagonistic drivers on the road. And no, there are NO VIABLE parallel side roads available to us cyclists to get from point A to B in timely safe, manner.

Last year I was ecstatic I could cycle SAFELY on the road. To everywhere! I especially loved hoping on the Bike Share bicycles on which I clocked nearly 400 km just in the summer/fall of 2024. Well, no more of my money goes to any of you merchants on Bloor/Royal York.

I know I know I am a small potato but over the years I would spend money at many establishments such as Green Mango or the Greek Tavern (our book club would go there), the cafes, the small grocers, the Momiji etc. I am sure it added up.
