That's the song to pick, if you only had to pick one. A lot of Americans don't get why that eponymous debut ranks so high on lists of greatest LPs in the UK, but man it somehow found the bridge between Madchester and Britpop; a band equally at home with a great melody or a killer groove.

That is a very sensible take. My only thought about why it's possible that this doesn't end it is that part of what has kept this alive has been a segment of the public for whom this was important in a different way. If they are dissatisfied, this may keep going.

Possibly. But given the run up to this, if there's a realization that this doesn't deliver what people think it promises, it could serve to keep the story alive even longer.
