Thank you for the dictionary reference! I am looking at editions of a political chapbook that doesn't change content at all between editions but does change title page information. These terms switch back and forth, so I am curious if it was an advertising tactic to buy the new edition.

Can anyone point me to a resource that discusses what "corrected" vs "with amendments" on an 18c title page would have indicated to readers? #bookhistory #eighteenthcentury #britishliterature

Does anyone have any information on the "sermon-stealing" mentioned in this advertisement? It is from a chapbook called Nixon's Cheshire Prophecy at Large by John Oldmixon sold by Curll, Pemberton, and Corbett in 1740. I suspect the "Monthly Libels" are Gentleman's Magazine and London Magazine.
