Finally managed book number six of the year, narrowly fulfilling my NY resolution to read at least six in a year. Phew! And I liked it. Short, and exactly as you'd expect from this author #BookSky

Eww. Even if I sat all day trying to think up the most evil words to say after a tragic death, I could never have come up with that. Staggering.

Happy now but so so sad later when their rights get trampled on. Hope it will be worth it!

I'm as surprised as anyone that I managed to finish a fifth book but this one felt satisfying. There's nothing like putting an artist back in their rightful place after being somewhat overshadowed by their husband then virtually forgotten. Mary Gillick deserves to be much better known than she is.

A marvellous fourth read of the year, about the making of Fraggle Rock. Heartwarming and inspiring in equal measures

My only hope is this: those angry, violent people are almost guaranteed to do something angry and violent on release. And they'll go straight back to prison for something that isn't political

I felt the same way but watched it as friends liked it. It's weak in a lot of ways - reliant on appearances from old cast members, poor casting in general - but I did really like Nicholas Lyndhurst. He does a great job making diamonds out of πŸ’©

My New Year's Resolution 2025 was to read at least six books. I have little time to read for any length of time, so while it doesn't sound like much, it's all relative. To keep me accountable, here is the first I've finished, A Hampshire Manor, bought after visiting Hinton Ampner last year
