I would note that this disdain points in one direction. These legacy media outlets have been quick to cover and hype tea party protests, anti-mask/anti-vax protests, and countless other examples of what they call “real Americans” engaging in protest.

Since people are remembering the tea party: a critical part to remember is that much like the open up campaigns of 2020, it started as an astroturf campaign by billionaires like the Koch brothers.

When I say the media has a deference to money and power I mean it.

Nothing that any elected Democrat has ever said about Republican voters is ever as crass or as cruel as what Trump says about Democratic constituencies every single day, and the media just treats it as background noise.

there were people saying this is where everything was headed way back in 2020 and they were scoffed at and ignored and sidelined by the dem party. and if you ask me, maybe the people who did the scoffing should be less influential in the party going forward. just imo
