I tend to get painting paralysis.

All my paint jobs are in stasis at a midpoint while I try to work out a magic solution so they can look as good as the picture in my head.

I guess the solution is paint more 😄

A conversion of the Warhammer underworlds model Mollog the Mighty into a larger Dankhold, painted dark turquoise and cream. Back mushrooms not yet added.

Any advice?
I started with a purple speed paint, changed my mind and went for this dark turquoise/cream combo, but I worry he looks like the joker in a suit.
Lighter green highlights on the skin? Glazes on the belly/face/arms? Some mottling/freckles to break up the stark break in colour?

I know what you mean, planning a converted army is fun to begin with but complications crop up as you go!

I still have no idea what to do with my leadbelchers, they look unfinished compared with the others, something's missing!

Thanks! Took way longer than I thought, kept feeling I'd finished and then would rotate the mini and see his right flank was weirdly flat, or his bum cheeks had ZERO definition and needed a back cloth

I think the problem with the Naked Gun remake is Liam Neeson keeps pulling faces in the trailer, mainly angry ones.

Leslie Nielsen, at least in my memory of the films and series Police Squad, looked gloriously unshaken regardless of what was happening, which made everything funnier.

A conversion of the plastic troll Mollog the Mighty with lots of greenstuff putty to make it bigger.

At a glacial pace my Mollog the Mighty conversion (into a full sized Dankhold) is approaching completion.

It's been fun learning to follow the shapes of muscles with putty, lengthening bits, fattening bits, starting to prime out of boredom then wising up... Mollog the Malicious will be ready soon.

I agree! Warhammer generally requires a suspension of disbelief (a few thousand space Marines don't make sense in a galaxy at war with billions of aliens) - I found it easier to appreciate the older figures as totems, artistic symbols.
More realistic figures bring you too close to reality...
