Cat paw print in a red brick wall.
Iβve posted this before but the light was perfect today- a little Victorian cat paw in a brick at the front of the old Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. As this is on the front-facing corner of the main gates, the bricklayer quite clearly put it there on purpose, at a height where children would spot it.

These leather swivel chairs can be seen in Tarkovsky's 'Solaris' and I'd appreciate any help identifying the designer/maker. Is it Svend Skipper? If so what's the model?

Sheet music for the song The Monkey Doodle Doo from the play The Cocoanuts. The illustration shows two grass huts on the beach.
Irving Berlin wrote two different songs called The Monkey Doodle Doo. The earlier one was composed in 1913. Thatβs not a title I would have thought needed to be revisited, but there you go.

AUTHOR'S PREFACE THE Author regrets that in arranging the materials for this book the morals were unaccountably mislaid.

There's evidence the booklet was written by Daniel Defoe. This famous image shows the (very relaxed) spirit of Mrs Veal floating through the ether.

βNot knowing whether a set of papyrus fragments were valuable or even genuine, the farmer dropped off a sample at the British Museum for an evaluation.
The expert who examined the papyri could identify them precisely because he had dug them up himself in Saqqara.β
