I think that’s a totally unjustified reach, here. She’s siding with Jeffries? That’s a massive reach.

Of course I agree with this. What I’m seeing is not disagreement — it’s disavowal from a place of woundedness. It’s like a fear of abandonment becoming sel-fulfilling.

What evidence do you have that she did this to appease Jeffries? And why would she need to do that?

One refusal to cast a symbolic vote and now she’s “with Jeffries”? This isn’t a serious analysis. You get that, right? I know you’ll just hate me for saying so. But come on.

All of the criticisms amount to “Zionism bad,” “apartheid bad.” Well, yeah. But how do we *actually* end it? Certainly not by losing a vote 7-421 instead of 6-422.

I do not agree with any of that and nobody has made a careful assessment of what she’s arguing, the strategy of a symbolic vote, or needlessly placing yourself in the crosshairs of Zionist smears in her very hostile district.

If we want to win, we need an obsessive focus on the big picture.

We ought to cultivate patience, thoughtfulness, and contextual analysis of symbolic voting by our representatives w/o jumping to burn the witch. Agreed?

That’s a fair response and I appreciate it. I wouldn’t say they’re not made for public debate, though. I see this stuff trumpeted from socialist media outlets and organizations all the time.

I think typically when someone compares something to a “PR strategy” it usually means it’s hollow or performative. Pardon my assumption if that’s not what you meant, but I know that Burgis has a deeply held and well sussed-out position re: his views. He means it and he’s written exhaustively.

Is a socialist commentator supposed to… not write about a critical issue of socialist policy and politics?
