Crisp calm.

Right now I’m starting to push between 30-45 plants every 7-14 days. It’s a mix of stuff to start the season and I fully expect most of this to be pushing the frost line here in E. WA. but I built a little greenhouse out of 4x8’ lengths of hog wire. It’s a good staging area later too.

I tend to throw little things into the trash can, just to see if I can make the shot. Started when I was a kid, I toss everything. Last year or so, I started trying shots with my off hand. So much so, that you’d have a hard telling which arm was dominant. All net🤣

All the farms around us are busy right now. People think this is the slow season. Umm no. They’ve been trimming fruit and grape vines for weeks now. Watched a group of guys rip out a whole orchard last week and this week they’re out in freezing mud putting in irrigation for the new trees.

Had some weight in my pack yesterday. The deer were thick. This is the only pic I took all day. I know, I know. Not much of an online game but it was more for me and when I hike fast and quiet, I see more game. 😄 nice to be out mid February and not hiking on ice.

I had a roommate that would tease me for washing all my produce. Then his brother started working the produce section at the local market. Came back one day and showed him his work gloves, after one days use. Oh! 😆

Trip my new neighbors out this year and grow a bunch of extra pumpkins, and then carve out like a 2-3 hundred, then only light them up Halloween night and take them all down before dawn. 😆 we’ve gotten so much hate from neighbors the second they find out you’re renting a place. Instant blackballed.

Snack, keep the seeds. I start planting the last inch or so of my green onions soon too. This is the way!

I have over 25 house plants now. Weeping ficus is taller than me 😆 I hand braided mine from a tiny start. It took so long but I think I’m going to start a bunch of those just because people like them so much. It’s an expensive tree, good tradable item.

Think I might start making a bunch of extra house plants to hand out or trade for things. Might grow a bunch of extra vegetables too. Have a spot I could put corn in, if I needed but sweet pumpkin and squash is a full send this year I think.

Last year I planted seeds from a jalapeño I bought at the store. Just in a little egg carton with 10 seeds. Kind of forgot about them really. Little splash of water on the way by. Well, those went nuts and I had jalapeños for months. Made hot sauce out of some. Doing the same now

There’s little deli in Laveen AZ. called Carniceria Mi Ranchito. I highly recommend it for your carne asada needs. Butchers will do any cut, marinade meats to go and fresh tortillas in house. They changed my game

Married 30 years and we don’t really celebrate valentines day much but it didn’t stop me from getting up early, cutting a stack of pink post-its into tiny hearts, and drawing little love letters on them before sticking them up all over the house.

if you're an older person who finds words like mogg and maxxing annoying, just starting using them. people over the age of 30 have the superpower to end trends by simply adopting them

My Doberman likes to do what I call, a weight check. I put on gloves, long sleeves and at some point in our wrestling, she is going to jump and smash. She comes in at about 25mph and will hit you sideways. Even when I know it’s coming, ready to take the hit, I’m going to get sent backwards 5-6’.

Had some bighorn sheep cross mile in front of my car and start heading up a mountain, close to my latest hikes. Wife seen what looks like a cougar, pop out and made a run at one. Time to strap on a little more protection. The amount of people that go missing in the national forest is insane
