I've been quietly setting up a craft room. It's exciting to have this quiet space for all my stuff.

Today is Distaff Day

Today day marks the traditional end of Christmas festivities, when women resumed household chores, specifically spinning wool or flax into thread using the distaff, a day for women to return to their domestic craft after the holidays, often involving playful pranks with men.

I was just gonna make it a rectangle with a draw string, but I ended up trying a few things.

I pulled the bottom together with a draw string and sewed it shut.

Yeah, I have holes where I switched colors by bringing up the stand from below.

I also have holes where I cut the tail too short.

I have under one year of knitting practice and I believe I bit off just a little more than I could handle.

I would like to make some throws but l think I'll just do simple striping.

I stumbled upon them on YouTube. I liked the idea of a 'whatever i need at the moment' book, so i bought some blank kraft books.

I'm even starting to decorate it with stickers

My husband crocheted a hat just in time for the festival. This was his first project. He's still going strong making dinosaur plushies.

One of the German angora rabbits sold by Rowdy Ranch. His name was Skittles, and he was so sweet. These guys have to be hand shorn every 3 months.

I've finished off that rambouillet, and now I'm trying to spin the rest of my gulf coast.

I previously acid dyed this, and I've hand spun a portion of it to make a small rabbit plushie. 🧶

You do not need to sell to be an artist.

It is art. You have to make many of the same decisions as another artist using a different medium.

Following someone else's pattern with their color and Fiber recommendations to a T. Still art.

Painters do this. When you study, you often recreate other's work to help in your learning.
