Weird. When I was growing up in the 90s (and 2000s) it was taken as a given Dems were best with the economy, and repubs were best re foreign military interventions. Well, at least folks got it half right then. I don’t get the boneheaded notion that repubs have ever helped the economy one bit.

Right! It’s almost a reverse snobbishness many Dem strategists/politicians have: assuming the average Joe on the streets reads up and follows every piece of legislation, attributes credit/blame where justly deserved, and sifts through all things with nuance before making decisions.
