Is there any prospect of insurers suing fossil fuel companies following precedent set by insurers who sued tobacco companies for the cost of caring for sick smokers, on the basis that tobacco companies lied about the dangers of their products?

Yes to this whole thread, but especially this. We need energy transition to be for everyone and to communicate that renewables are how we stop (fossil fuel) energy bill fuelled #inflation.

Agree 1.5 is dead headlines are not useful and particularly the flippant quote in this @theguardian.com headline. But this is important: "every fraction of a degree is worth fighting for. If we can’t achieve 1.5C, it will be better to get 1.6C than 1.7C, which will be better than getting 2C or more”
