White painted columns and worn gray floor boards make up a front porch facing a bay and marina, both unseen except in slivers of water and the masts of sailboats rising over a verdant, floral garden filling the narrow patch between the porch and a low, decorative fence. The sky is partly cloudy with a bright blue sky peeking out. The sun has lit up the garden from above.

Don't Buy Starbucks! At any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike!
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.
Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Exciting! I know some folks living with Long COVID who are truly miserable. Sadly, one friend gave up after 4 years coping and took her own life. Tirzepatide may be a miracle drug. I just read a report on clinical trials using the drug to delay stage 4 T1D onset as far into progression as stage 3.🤞

Close up photo of sliced leek rings on a pale brown and marked up bamboo cutting board glow in shades of light and dark green to white as they radiate out like tree rings.
Slicing leeks and was suddenly mesmerized by how beautiful they are.

Photo taken from a granite overlook of a mountain valley and the rising peaks of the Okanogan mountain range in Washington state. An expanse of smooth granite rock is under foot. To the left is a twisted, gray tree trunk lying across the stone slab. In the foreground are 5 evergreen trees at the edge of the rock ledge, one is bare and dead. The granite mountains in the distance are covered in patches of evergreen trees. The sky is a brilliant blue peeking from behind fluffy white clouds on a partly sunny day.

Ok Julie. I suggest that you try scrolling past opinions you don’t agree with and save yourself the energy you’ve spent arguing with me. My point has gone entirely over your head and I’m done trying to explain it to you. We disagree. Period. Carry on.

Six people stand in silhouette on a beach at sunset. One person appears to be taking a photo while others are looking out to sea as the sun sets behind distant hills. A person is seated on the steps of a lifeguard tower while another leans against the platform. The sky is a deep orange with a few thin clouds.

Good grief. I’m not mad. All I stated was it was a bad look using a child as a family joke prop on stage and risking embarrassing them in front of (potentially millions of) viewers. Just say you love and value your 3 beautiful daughters and let them feel good on your big day too.
Enjoy your day.

I can’t tell if we agree or not. Yes, families have inside jokes. But if the family joke is that a kid is messy, lazy, a poor student, friendless, etc it’s unkind and in poor taste to share that family joke with an audience, especially on live national tv and risk humiliating their child publicly.

Working mom here… No mom should use her kid as a backstop for a joke in front of an audience and risk embarrassing their child in public, especially her daughter, if that was actually her point. Kids shouldn’t be props for parents’ adult jokes. How do you not see that?

An old door made out of what appears to be uneven sheets of aging copper layered over each other in a patchwork design, covering a large entry door. There’s a small, narrow slot at the top with a smaller, privacy door covering it. There are three large metal straps stretching across the front of the door where the hinges are. And there’s a large iron latch and door pull on the left. The door is surrounded by old red brick and worn railroad ties creating the frame. What stands out is the shiny silver metal threshold that looks brand new.
I love unusual old doors. 🚪

Landscape shot over water trees reflecting into the river clouds above a branch with lost leaves on the left hand side slightly obscuring the shot. York River, Maine
Good morning. Happy November!
Leaves they fall, the water cold,
Branches lay bare, as the rustling calms, sound slumber calls, to venture is bold, this chill we share, our common season psalm 🍂

Raindrops fall against an evening sun break after a storm. The gray skies begin to part, letting the sun break through and cast bright sunlight on a bay surrounded by forested hills. You are standing on a wet gravel path flanked on both sides by tall grasses. On the left, standing in silhouette, is a tall, wooden totem pole.

A deep dark blue sky at dusk on a white sand beach. Volleyball nets set up on the left and a lifeguard station on the right, which mimics the turret roofline of the Hotel Del Coronado (San Diego), unseen behind the shot. Two human shadows are cast across the rippling sand.

Photo of a collection of pink and orange dahlias collected in a basket. Beside them is a black tray of various types of homegrown tomatoes, still bright green. Resting on a black, wire drain rack over a sink filled with soapy water are a smaller collection of ripe red beefsteak and yellow cherry tomatoes. In the far left corner sits a small cup of unfiltered sake.
Final harvest. Guess I’ll be making some fried green tomatoes this week.
