When the places of your history, of your ancestors history are razed you lose the connection to that history. Places matter. How many have returned to childhood homes just to remember? Why do we visit cemeteries to see graves of the long dead? The loss is personal for every American.

I think there is a strong possibility that many GOP voters aren’t ardent MAGA, they just don’t like having an old guy politician or a black woman president. Dems have shot themselves in the foot: For 3 elections, they couldn’t find a strong, younger man candidate.

Federal Judge Jeffrey Cummings has found that ICE agents violated the terms of a consent decree by detaining people without proper warrants. He ruled that as of this week ICE must wear body cams at all times and can face arrest and contempt proceedings if they conduct unlawful, warrantless arrests.

Trump is not going to stop after all the "illegals" are gone. There will be some new group to be rounded up.

This exact thing happened early in Hitler's reign. He went after the Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, but he did not stop there.

Once again, one reason Trump says & does whatever he wants is bc every societal institution, including the media, has totally normalized & internalized the idea that the laws, the Constitution, & the international treaties we have signed & ratified simply don’t apply to this one guy. It’s maddening.
