We created something last night. A crude but energetic three colour woodcut based on the belladonna plant. We took this design from digital artwork through hand tooling into the traditional additive multi-block woodcut technique. #print #woodcut #botany

A flyer advertising the York Printmakers exhibition at City Screen, 13-17 Coney Street, York YO1 9QL. It is illustrated with four prints on the theme of 'Rivers of York'. It says the exhibition runs until 7th February but in fact that's the day it is taken down so it should say 6th February.

Update - in a change to the published dates the York Printmakers exhibition at the City Screen Picturehouse in York will be ending this FRIDAY, 6th February. (If you come to see it on Saturday morning all you will find is a bunch of harassed printmakers surrounded by bubblewrap and picture hooks).

Lovely print and really nice to see the artist too!

Like everyone else I’ve been watching the horrors unfold as emboldened fascists take to the streets and murder people. However seeing people band together and fight back has been heartening and that inspired this piece I drew up this weekend, depicting a good old fashioned peasants’ revolt.
