Finally did the iPhone update (I know) and it’s given the app icons a kind of white line/shadow. That’s kind of what I get when I have visual stress. So that’s nice.

Yay! I don’t mind it. They are generally quite nice to me. Were a bit intense at Detroit last summer, but I was travelling alone for only four days from London, so that’s probably a bit unusual.

Hope you get there in the end. Going through TSA with my name is a usually a blast. I just laugh along with their ‘thank you for the cooking!’ jokes and pretend it’s the first time I’ve heard it.

Tawny owl

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Well, you’ll be able to spot the foxes running off with them at least 😬 We had to swap ours for the fox-proof versions. Mind you foxes around here are a law unto themselves. Went through a spate of chewing tires in 2022. We all had to spray our wheels with a dilution of vinegar 🤣

Must say they are fancy. We’ve had them for years and no reflectors on ours.

I am tired. The start of the university term, four lots of physio exercises a day, plus three trips to the gym for classes a week, all of which hurt. And hot-flush insomnia. #hEDS

We only buy plain white crockery. Dyspraxia and dishes don’t mix.

I felt this about my son’s (grammar) 6th form. They were ‘preparing’ them for independence at university by tightly controlling them, even down to their revision method. My other son went to college post 16. Much greater freedom.

If ever I’m asked relationship advice by young females, I always say to never stay with anyone who tries to clip your wings. Lola Young’s Messy is my anthem for that advice. I hope that she is getting good medical care and has lots of loving support.

Mine are off the scale at the moment but I suspect it’s all the change in jobs etc!

Goodness the acoustics in swimming pools are diabolical if you’ve any kind of hearing loss. No idea what my aqua-aerobics teacher was saying to me mid-class. I keep forgetting to tell her about it.

Today is a day of final goodbyes as I leave one job to focus on another. My eyes are already leaking and I’ve only sent some ‘ Cheerio and good luck’ messages.

Last night I accidentally thumped my husband in the face 😬 I was dreaming of being attacked in a shopping centre, and let’s just say I wasn’t having it.

That sounds delicious. I wonder if my teeth could take it though!
