07.12.2025 22:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Similar. I have one good GP whose known me for 30 years. We just get stuck as we canβt refer to UCLH anymore. Theyβre the only ones whoβve never caused issues. Local physio and hand therapy (particularly hand therapy) is diabolical.
07.12.2025 22:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Too many clinicians are absolutely pants. When you find a good one, theyβre like a shining star. Iβm under a goodβun at the moment for my teeth.
07.12.2025 21:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβll be keeping my fingers (gently) crossed for you. Impossible to manage that level of pain.
07.12.2025 18:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Gah. I hope not.
07.12.2025 18:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Last year our tβai chi instructor gave the class aloe vera βpupsβ from his old plant. Everyone killed theirs, apart from me. Mineβs taken over the house. Iβve potted up 10 more βpupsβ from it and the class are getting another one each for Christmas. Whether they like it or not!
07.12.2025 18:09 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0P.s. howβs your pain - things moving back? Hope so.
07.12.2025 18:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I needed standing x rays to see how my feet collapse. I hear you!
07.12.2025 18:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All love to you. I tentatively share a song that helps me when Iβm feeling that all-consuming sense of injustice. Take care. youtu.be/AbFi7rJeirI?...
07.12.2025 18:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yup. I live in a London Borough and our bus network is unbelievable. 5 routes stop at the top of my road and they are regular, reliable and clean (most are new, electric).
07.12.2025 07:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Son just came downstairs with the the same story and in a quite self-congratulatory mood as heβs building a new pc and pre-bought the RAM.
05.12.2025 18:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This discussion around mental health diagnosis is grinding my gears. The problem is constantly placed wholly within the person. What about the context? What has happened within society?
05.12.2025 08:17 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Two proper letters from old friends today. What a lovely thing.
04.12.2025 15:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm waiting for my haircut and Iβm going to have to stop listening to WATO on radio 4. Ableism abounds and is making me feel queasy. βThe language of psychiatry has escaped psychiatry.β Good. Knowledge is power.
04.12.2025 13:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe they should also look at the increasing intolerance of anything or anyone βdifferentβ within society. The word βinclusionβ is bandied around, but there doesnβt seem to be much of it about. If someoneβs struggling with lack of reasonable adjustments, they objectively need that diagnosis.
04.12.2025 13:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They do know autism and adhd aren't mental health conditions don't they ? Don't they ?
04.12.2025 11:52 β π 20 π 3 π¬ 5 π 0I feel like Mr Benn this morning. Editing 11 screencasts for work, originally made over 7 days. Amazing how hairstyles, outfits and make-up differs from day to day. I guess I like variety!
04.12.2025 10:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#BskyHelp, please?
I have MS, and I need to find shoes with VERY VERY SOFT soles, even more than for diabetic neuropathy! Does anyone know of such shoes (thermally insulated too)?
I'd be REALLY grateful for your help here. A boost wouldn't go amiss either. Thanks! ππ
We have a βthingβ (not unrelated to a family of hypermobile hands/fingers) where we all use gifts bags. We donβt write the labels (sticky notes inside where needed). Then they get reused until they basically fall apart.
04.12.2025 08:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Family still asleep. My set-up is upstairs. I need to get working. I have to use voice to text.
04.12.2025 07:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah, never thought of that.
04.12.2025 07:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Really interesting thread. Itβs something Iβve worked with students around study habits. A good song on repeat/repeating sounds to help make a familiar and pleasant environment to work in.
04.12.2025 07:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have one on my desk! You are right, really helps.
02.12.2025 07:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβll be Guys.
02.12.2025 07:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On the nose. Thank you for articulating it so well. Iβm 57 and was diagnosed with hypermobile EDS at 45. Yes, I have arthritis in various bits and pieces (and am mid another root canal!) but am mostly living well with it these days. I wish you well as youβre working through what it all means.
01.12.2025 22:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs on the nose, eh.
01.12.2025 22:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oof. I'm hypermobile, my kids are hypermobile, we come from a long line of hypermobile people. The more I read about the many associated, but often vague, symptoms, the more I realise how many hEDS boxes I tick. Oh, and the lack of medical interest in any of it, least of all joining the dots
