Around 5,000 people marched in Riga today in one of the largest post-independence protests, opposing a possible Latvia's withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention.

More than 19,000 active citizens have signed a petition against denouncing the Istanbul Convention. The Latvian Parliament is legally required to review this petition, but they've intentionally scheduled it after the decisive vote. We are protesting this evening. This is our last stand.

I misread it as “1000 wolves” and I did not question it at all until I got to the “biggest car theft” part and started wondering if that is a wordplay thing with the word of wolf meaning a car in the other language.
