Turns out I was so strident in my expressing our family's need for the toddler's schooling to be secular, the nursery teacher thought we were JWs....I think we've cleared up that celebrations and knowledge are good, forced prayer bad.

Yep. It's one of the biggest issues we (communities hosting these projects) are having...international corporations are getting waved through planning permission, no benefit to the community, all profits going elsewhere and council have no powers to enforce good behaviour.

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

Immigrants already have these digital ID cards instead of visas...and yes, it took me 2 months to get mine to work because I downloaded the app from the website instead of the app store and put my details in the laptop site.

The true question right now is whether you believe in the moral character of the British public. If you do, you'll want to have the fight with Reform. You'll believe that the public will hate the idea of breaking up families, spying on & deporting people who've worked here for years.

"Privatization" of vital public services means privatizing profits and socializing losses, so public burden grows because private entities extract value. That's why costs of privatized services inevitably go up as quality of service goes down.

I've lived in Scotland for 19 years. Married to a British citizen, British citizen child, native English speaker, PhD from an ancient Uni, employed, mortgaged, community councillor...no longer the "good migrant"...because good migrants don't exist under fascism.

I make difficult decisions every day

Like-do I pay £40 to get a taxi to the Dr Surgery or do I put my child on my bike and try to make it there over the 60mph roads. We no longer have a Dr Surgery or Bus in the village because "hard decisions" had to be made, & LDs chose a new council headquarters.

Pretending that destroying communities and vulnerable people's lives is just part of the job is why people don't want mainstream parties anymore. It's why your arguments just don't wash...and democracy is failing because of it.

You all chose who to sacrifice and who to ally with. You chose the Tories and to hurt those that could complain the least.

Balancing the budget that they blew for years on the backs of the elderly and disabled instead of cutting business bonuses....they had choices, they took the ones that allied with Tory values, not left values.

SNP had an entire budget that didn't involve this harm, but, well, flags...

The LD have been in coalition with the Tories in Aberdeenshire since 2017. Cuts cuts cuts! Pain, pain pain!
