Not going to name and shame as if it does become tiresome I will dnf again, and I will only post positive things about books online. If I post nothing, that means I have nothing positive to say!

I'm re-trying a book that I previously dnf'd. And I'm not sure what Past Me was going on about, this is enjoyable, and not dreary and tiresome, so fingers crossed it remains that way.

No sewing today, I've been working on the massive great big knitted cardigan that my Grown Up Child wants, so now I have most of one sleeve, the button bands and collar...and potentially pockets depending on amount of yarn left at that point! Might even finish before they return to uni in September!

What's better than a really good book? A really good book that's FREE! This is the first of a fantastic queer urban fantasy series. It's a great premise, with great characters too. Absolutely one of my favorites. My rave review: wolfhusky.net/duncan/wp/20...

Try putting a white cloth (pillow case/teatowel etc) on your lap as well so the black has a high contrast and is easier to see?

Maybe it's just what comes across my particular desk, but seems like it should be a bigger deal that both the EU and the US have approved a kind of HIV vaccine--a shot that provides 99% protection for 6 months--and it's going to be produced royalty-free in 120 poor nations w/ high HIV rates.

I am rather disappointed that despite behaving very nicely at the doctors, I did not get a lollipop or sticker after having my injections. I think we should normalise giving adults nice treats for not crying or biting the nurse, not just kids!

If, like me, the MMR was not a thing when you were a kid, and you're in the UK, check with your surgery. It would be horrendous to catch a disease you could avoid, especially if you are left with life changing effects from it, which many adults are.

I have had my final mmr booster today and now I should be safe from getting measles, mumps, or Rubella. Which is great because measles and mumps were bad enough as a child but we know they are much worse as an adult. And with the rising cases I just feel safer.

My grown up child, who does have cool research skills, told me they were looking for A Specific Book but could not locate other than on £spendy sites. Within 5 mins me, who learned Old School looking up, finds it in a library that can be visited tomorrow.
