Farewell, brave steed.
This day, five years ago.
RIP the Perseverance Skycrane, giving us one of the most badass sci-fi-like photos in space exploration history.

Real in this elder millennial's experience; I intentionally spend zero time on algo-driven sites. Bluesky and RSS are primary news sources. No Meta products, no TikTok. I know I'm unusual but so happy for it.
I'm not a huge Dune fan but I'm eternally grateful that there is an accepted name for the thing that we need.

"My brother in Turing have you met another human programmer before"
For many projects, typing speed is a limiting factor and AI can help. For many others, the real limit is the human brain and understanding. AI does not help with this problem, and in fact actively makes it worse.

Grok, and AI more generally, is the first time he's trying to compete for real, from behind. It's not going well for him.

United Launch Allianceβs 2026 has gotten off to a bad start.
Another nozzle failure on a GEM-63XL is likely to ground the Vulcan rocket for months, as Northrop Grumman will need to redesign and replace the assembly.
A similar anomaly occurred during the Cert-2 mission in 2024.
I was in the EBR for it and I didn't either!
