Imagine DOGE opens your mail and finds your household electric bill. To eliminate this cost, they burn your house down without warning. Then they total up the bills that, as a homeless person, you will never again pay. On its website, DOGE boasts about the money it has saved you.

Parallelization in purrr β€” parallelization purrr's map functions have a .parallel argument to parallelize a map using the mirai package. This allows you to run computations in parallel using more cores on your machine, or distributed over the ...

Parallelization just landed in the dev version of purrr: purrr.tidyverse.org/dev/referenc...

Really pleased that the mirai framework makes this possible.

Huge credit to the tidyverse maintainers @hadley.nz @lionelhenry.bsky.social and @davisvaughan.bsky.social !

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

targets, the District Court reasonably concluded that the balance of the equities tips toward
preliminary relief pending full consideration of the merits. Its analysis of the last two
preliminary injunction factors was not arbitrary or unreasonable. The court did not
manifestly abuse its discretion, and its injunction was not overbroad.
156 Finally, both parties have submitted notices of supplemental authority, citing recent
cases considering challenges to various laws regarding gender-affirming care. Without
exception, the additional authority pertains to claims grounded in the equal protection
clause or otherwise based on alleged unlawful discrimination. Some of the authorities also
reference new developments in research and evidence that was not part of the record
presented to the District Court in the preliminary injunction proceedings. Because, on the
record here, the District Court's conclusions on Montana's express privacy protections are
sufficient to uphold its preliminary injunction, we affirm on that basis. The parties will
have the opportunity during the merits proceeding for full development of the record, where their experts may offer insight on any new research, and for briefing on the current case law relative to their claims.
CONCLUSION
157 The District Court made no error of law and did not manifestly abuse its discretion.
We affirm its grant of a preliminary injunction on the basis of Plaintiffs' right to privacy claim. The case will proceed to trial, at which point the District Court will finally resolve the disputed facts and issue a final determination on the constitutional issues presented.

Incredible news! Montana’s Supreme Court just affirmed that the state’s gender affirming care ban is likely unconstitutional.

This makes the state the first state Supreme Court to rule that trans medical care is protected.

This applies REGARDLESS of what the US Supreme Court does.

β€˜Where do you expect people to go?’: What we know about the governor’s order to clear homeless encampments in California | CNN California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive order on Thursday directing officials of the state with the largest homeless population in the nation to start removing homeless encampments was met with outra...

I know that Dems & Reps are not the same. We will be better off with Dems running things. But, things like this make it hard for me to believe it. No matter how many nice words Newsom puts in his order, people will suffer from this. They will be assaulted & lose everything they own when this happens

I am so glad to find a lot of my old #rstats people here that I haven't been keeping up with since I left Twitter. I've missed feeling connected to the R community in that way. I hope everyone is ok. I've been busy building things with Shiny and just a *lot* of life things.
