There's a difference between simply liking the movies and being overly defensive of them.

There's also a difference between reasonable criticism of the movies and bigotry from alt-right grifters, the latter being something that shouldn't even be considered in any critical discussions*

I swear if half the people who NOW say they ALWAYS liked the Prequels and constantly complain about how Disney β€œruined” George’s perfect 6 films ACTUALLY fucking meant it…

…George Lucas would have never have sold his studio to Disney in the first place.

…The backlash to the Prequels was so bad that George Lucas basically lost all passion for Star Wars and sold it to Disney.

And once the Sequels came out EVERYBODY started saying how Disney had RUINED George Lucas’s six PERFECT movies with these new movies.

George Lucas Raped Our Childhood
YouTube video by Hot Waffles - Topic George Lucas Raped Our Childhood

Star Wars fans have always been garbage. Before Disney bought it, the fans were relentless in bashing the prequels to point where Ahmed Best almost committed suicide and Jake Lloyd was relentlessly bullied.

And George Lucas was hated so much, that they wrote this song:

See, I’m not really astounded at people liking these movies… I’m more astounded at the level of vitriolic hate they get that leads people to harass the cast and crew online and rage about the existence of Women/POC/LGBTQ people in these films.

Trump voters don't need SNAP benefits. They can always do what all MAGAs do whenever they need money - film themselves shouting a buncha racial slurs in public and then start crowdfunding campaigns where they claim they're being punished for it. Ca-ching!

So much fucking bullshit could've been completely avoided and I will NEVER forgive those of you who fully knew the risks and STILL wouldn't just fill in the goddamn circle on the stupid ballot like adults. If your "conscience" wouldn't let you, your conscience sucks at its job.

Yeah yeah, I know, Biden shouldn't have appointed Garland and Garland shouldn't have slow-walked it. No argument there.

But ultimately, that wouldn't have mattered if more people had JUST VOTED FOR KAMALA.

It will never fail to astound me just how fucking CLOSE they were to finally throwing his ass in jail.

All they needed was a little bit of help from the voters. They just needed us to give it a little nudge and tip it over into the goal.

And way too many of you motherfuckers just wouldn't do it.

According to Tubi's head of acquisitions, "LOONEY TUNES" has become one of their "top-ten best-performing series," and is popular with viewers across generations.

He says they are in "active negotiations" to ensure that Tubi can be the home of Looney Tunes for "quite a while β€” likely years."

Would there still be redundancies and layoffs. Unfortunately yes, but NOWHERE near as much as if Paramount or NBCUniversal bought WB.

Will that happen… I honestly don’t know.

WB is one of my favourite Hollywood studios and I worry about its future.

The other upsides to an Amazon buyout would be Amazon Prime becoming the streaming home of the WB library - allowing WB to piggy back off an already popular streaming service rather than trying (and failing) to create their own. Plus after 40 years the MGM library would be reunited.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

…and (b) Amazon is an online shopping company - and therefore also benefits from Physical Media sales in a way that Apple and Netflix don’t.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Also unlike other streamers, Amazon probably won’t be as hostile towards physical media like Apple or Netflix are since (a) WB already has a deal with them to distribute their Post-1986 MGM films on Physical Media anyway,…

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Having Amazon buy WB will at least preserve WB as a company and not cause AS many lay offs.

Sure Amazon owns MGM, but MGM has been a shill of its former self for well over half a century - it folding into WB wouldn’t be too much of a loss.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And it’s the same thing here… if Universal was able to get the rights away from Six Flags… fine.

But not by destroying WB.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Like if Disney had just bought the Marvel and Star Wars properties from Fox back and let everything else go to a DIFFERENT company that didn’t already own a massive film studio… fine.

But the fact they destroyed one of Hollywood’s oldest and respected studios in order to do that was not good.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Like as much as I like the fact that the X-Men and Fantastic Four are now in the MCU (seriously First Steps was AMAZING)… but it wasn’t worth loosing 20th Century Fox and thousands of people getting laid off over it.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And before anyone points this out… yes I know if Universal buys WB, they’ll get the theme park rights.

While I’d rather have Universal have the theme park rights to the WB library than Six Flags… it’s really not worth destroying a legendary 100 year old studio over it.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Basically the same thing that happened to 20th Century Fox after Disney bought it.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Plus since Paramount and Universal have a lot of the same divisions as WB will basically they’d just turn into a in-name only brand and shutdown most of their departments (including WB Home Video and and Warner Archive) - and have THOUSANDS of people loosing their jobs in the process.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Their are only 5 major Hollywood studios left and if either NBCUniversal or Paramount (or Disney or Sony) were buy WB we’d being going down to just 4 - edging closer towards a monopoly.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Don’t get me wrong, media consolidation is still bad, and I’m not exactly thrilled about Jeff Bezos owning WB… BUT this option has the least drawbacks.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have to be honest with you guys I am nervous about the future of WB being bought by another studio.

Honestly out of all the potential buyers: NBCUniversal, Paramount, Amazon, Apple and Netflix… Amazon is probably their best option.

25.10.2025 13:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yesterday I saw a video where a guy said that Disney should absolutely NOT buy WB because monopolies are bad.

But was totally on-board NBCUniversal buying WB because of the theme park possibilities.

Apparently to this man monopolies are only bad when Disney does it.

It's rare to discover that the characters a comedian played were actually somehow smarter than the actor himself was. And this was the guy who was in The Animal.

Helped by the fact they had Bela Lugosi do live-action reference for this scene.

Some of Bill Tytla’s greatest work.

Everyone in Hollywood needs to fight back against this administration because WGA already taking the first stand of doing so...They don't want the Ellisons/Skydance buying WBD like the rest of us. We all need to take a stand really just remember we did boycott Disney over Jimmy Kimmel...Game On.

if disney does a theatrical release of the original star wars films for the 50th anniversary and offers them on physical media i will forgive them for every terrible decision they've made with star wars
