They've been vying for the big free agents for years now. (Their offer to Ohtani was comparable to what the Dodgers offered.) This may convince players that Toronto is the place to be. Toronto isn't a small market; this was hardly a David v Goliath series. They've got a real shot to continue this.

The Dodgers earned it, though. They didn't buy that Series. The Blue Jays made them fight for it. Extra innings in Game 7! My god. That's something fans will be able to hang their hearts on a few months from now. And they have Vladdy, who proved to the world he's a star. The Blue Jays have arrived.
