I'm seeing a lot of "why do you even care about the white house fuck that building lol", and like, the horror people are experiencing about it isn't because they somehow hold it in their heart and love it, the issue that he was able to do this without a plan or authorization in like 72 hours

Saying the No Kings protests are "bullshit" and that it's preventing people from getting involved with orgs despite there being orgs at all of these events getting people to sign up is not saying "you need to do more than show up for one protest". In fact, if that was the statement, it would be true

The first time I publicly criticized the NYT as being a horrible institution was on Twitter a month or so after I quit. I did it because of the Tom Cotton op-ed. The number of messages I got from ex and then current nyt employees about the abuse they had endured was... more than I could take in tbh

By the time I got to the J-school that Kendra graduated from, NYT had gained such a reputation that I was warned by faculty "everyone who was white had the best time of their lives working there while those who weren't were miserable."

It was advice that probably saved me from ruining my career.

There were multiple socialist, voting, tenant rights, etc orgs getting people to sign up at the No Kings Protest in my city in which thousands of people attended, and it was three times larger than the last one. This is just flat out wrong in addition to being unhelpful.

Yeah the Talmud is referenced and spoken about a lot in my Reform Temple. I am Reform, but in practice am closer to a Conservative Jew, I just have a heavy belief in religious freedom and social justice *shrug*

what is illuminating, in my opinion, is how many foods have been created by jews that have been claimed by non-jews as their regional specialty, like bagels, fish & chips, and old bay seasoning, for which we are stripped of any credit, while accused of stealing others' dishes.
