The Star Tribune reports that federal agents "attempted to order local police from the scene" where a man was shot and killed by feds this morning, but Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara refused and "instructed his officers to preserve the scene."

Yeah, in our area, I wouldn't expect the Dems to run local campaigns at all. I wouldn't expect a Dem to win ANY of these... but it doesn't take a lot of effort to find a guy to be a name in a box if they try. Sorry, I know this doesn't really have anything to do with Primaries, exactly, but more with general frustration with the party's entrenched listlessness. It just made me think of it, is all.

Local elections matter and we aren't even putting a name in the box for most of them.

This past November, in my local elections, for a variety of offices, like 9 seats altogether, 11 of the candidates up for those seats were Republicans, and I think 6 of those seats were Rs running unopposed. There was one Democrat. Total. He didn't win.

Why are we totally ceding the battlefield.

I keep e-mailing my county's Democratic party committee about just... "Put some NAMES in the second box, at least. Local elections matter, and most of them are Republicans running unopposed! Organize now! This is the time!"

They haven't e-mailed me back.
