I really hope they will add more stuff in the desert over time through DLC or otherwise. It’s a let down to have waited so long only to see all this emptiness

I’ve been using Today’s Budget for the past month and it fundamentally changed how I view my finances. Created by just two people, the app answers a simple question that no other app can easily answer: How much can you actually spend today?

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!

Watched The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) and there's a part where a violent storm destroys their homes and sends Pooh & Piglet spiraling towards a waterfall while a totally oblivious Owl decides to tell a story and wait for someone else to help and I thought.. hey, that's Chuck Schumer!

Let's talk about free subscribers not mattering, because that is an absolute myth.

A simple click shows studio contacts that the audience cares enough to click through and click a button. The two second action can have MASSIVE impact, so please do not EVER feel weird about being a free subscriber.

August newsletter is out! 1,190 words on my summer reads, why Ross is America, and a few words on my growing anxiety. winsonshuen.com/2025/08/31/a...

Well not to brag, but I have this awesome flywheel between imposter syndrome (not feeling I’m good enough) and a tendency to overindex my own contribution (to think I’m the only one who did β€œenough” stuff because I overthink), which then takes me back to imposter syndrome and feeling bad. Real fun!

I also remember how layoffs absolutely destroyed morale there (and rippled across dept) and how much time it took to rebuild. (If ever, some may argue.)

I hope those affected the best of luck, and the β€œsurvivors” to be gentle with themselves from the guilt they may feel.

Ooof while layoffs are never fun, I remember my time there to know how especially gut-wrenching layoffs are at IGN β€” a place where coworkers are often also friends who spend so much time working/traveling/gam together.
