it's fine and it's processing power is fine. you don't really need any more than android 13. I wouldn't consider it a secure phone for this reason though - have a pixel or iPhone on hand for your secure work.

as a person who purchases things with crypto occasionally: it wouldn't work. mostly because it is simply too complex for most people. there's also things like tax burden, high fees, always having to send more than you need to in order to make sure you cover the tx fees, all causing higher prices

DEADBEEF is also on Mac and is really nicely powerful but to get it good you need some config. you could also try to build rmpc which is a pretty cute looking TUI frontend for mpc

i couldnt get any messages out on MT where i am - i think there is a rogue router nearby.

anyways this made me check if there were any major additions to the seattle meshcore network and yeah this is a ~100 mile hop. another repeater or two and vancouver should be reliably connected to seattle.

recently though, we got a Meshcore repeater on a very good radio site, cougar mtn. this has connected the entire Seattle area, from Tacoma up to Victoria, BC (!) it's extremely reliable and works wonderfully

meshtastic unfortunately breaks down pretty badly when the mesh is large enough - in Seattle it can't really be used for actual communication due to hop limit, nodes in roles they shouldn't be blackholing messages, congestion caused by too much telemetry, and lack of routing algorithm

for cell phones it's entirely VOIP
