Cover image of Issue #18 of The New Territory, a magazine of the Lower Midwest. A young man in a pasture lifts a metal ring as three cows stand behind him. Snow is on the grassy pasture with barren trees in the background. The photography is an example of the quality of work featured and produced by Midwest photographers, writers, and artists. This point is an appeal to raise funds for the publication of Issue 18. Pre-order a copy or donate at https://newterritorymag.com/donate/issue-18-fundraiser/.

Federal funding released for Freedom’s Frontier, preserver of Kansas and Missouri history Staff said Freedom's Frontier, a National Heritage Area that recognizes historic, cultural and natural resources, would have ceased to exist without federal funding.

β€œYour calls and conversations with your representatives mattered. We are deeply grateful.”

The Freedom's Frontier sites preserve the story of the Missouri-Kansas border war that preceded Kansas’ entry into the union. Via @kansasreflector.com

Good point. Karlaftis did have 8 sacks last year. Over the season, I hope he can meet or exceed that production. Not a great start though.

Karlaftis was close a couple times. As he tunes up and chases down QBs, maybe that'll draw some manpower away from Chris Jones. Or Karlaftis kicks into a higher gear this year and starts closing on those attempts.

Felt like a continuation of last season. Inefficient run game. No play-action, doesn't set up the deep passes. Weak defense when it counted. Offense relied on defense to save the game at the end. Jones-Tranquill beef wasn't a good look. Veatch wants a Super Bowl team on a bargain basement budget.

I understand that OTs are hard to come by but I'm sick of Jawaan Taylor. He is a penalty-prone liability that costs the Chiefs every year. He can't break his habit of jumping early and drawing a penalty. He doesn't have enough confidence or discipline to do his job consistently. He's gotta go.

β€œDeep-Fried Butter,” Plug Gallery – KC STUDIO The exhibit β€œDeep-Fried Butter” is primarily inspired by observations about MAGA-driven leadership and politics.

My latest review for @kcstudiomag.bsky.social of "Deep-Fried Butter," an exhibition by three artists at Plug Gallery in Kansas City. The exhibition explores a waiting room in an imagined culture where MAGA got everything it wanted.

Ponder the implications.
