I’ll be a democrat until the end of time, but the Democrats have a huge problem on their hands. I don’t mean the shutdown. I mean the antiquated and out of touch approach to everything. Until that is fixed the only path to electoral victory is that Trump is so awful people develop a conscience

Proud former member of the Liberal Democrats in the UK. Good on Ed Davey πŸ‘

If you want to vote Republican, that’s great, but maybe do it in another state πŸ˜‰

It’s good to see Josh Kraft step back from the mayoral race in Boston. I’m glad to see Wu won 264 out of 275 precincts but those of us on the left do need to learn something from this too. We ought to have much more than a 49 point lead in Massachusetts. It ought to be 100% blue or at least 99%

I was in a meeting in California earlier yesterday and someone started coughing. It reminded me that same day instant appointments are now available πŸ’ͺ

I just got the latest 2025-26 COVID vaccine and I encourage you to take the appropriate steps for your own health and wellbeing. Vaccines are safe and prevent disease πŸ’ͺ

Don’t forget to vote for Michelle Wu if you’re participating in Boston today. We don’t need a Republican effort to come ruin our city. Fortunately, Wu is ahead by 50% in the polls but we can always do more to encourage sanity.

Our kiddo loves a particular @fisherprice.com toy known as β€œathleisure dad”, who he refers to as β€œdaddis”. He loves it so much that I wanted a spare just in case. But they now only sell them in Australia and New Zealand. I introduce you to $200 worth of remailing service and tarrifs

I personally stopped trusting anything coming out of CDC in January. I verify anything they publish against British (NHS) and European guidance, which I still trust

Things are pretty f’d up when I am forced to
agree with the likes of Massie and Paul. I am shocked that those who claim to be the party of Reagan are now just totally fine with the U.S. government taking ownership stakes in companies

I don't know who needs to hear this, but an economy controlled by a handful of oligarchs isn't a "free market."

Yep, while T**** wants to undermine Fed independence, we should never forget the racist undertones with this current Admin.

In my opinion it’s partly his desire to get a rate cut and rule the Fed but it’s also partially pure old fashioned racism

But of course Republicans aren’t always full of shit. They have the bigliest and bestest ideas. Things like handing billions to private business and privatizing social security

15.08.2025 12:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yet, there appears to be some outage affecting Republicans lately. They appear to be unable to remember their basic principles and the tenants of their (misguided) ideology. Especially when it comes to how the U.S. government should directly intervene in the economy. Almost like they’re full of shit

15.08.2025 12:58 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

In the American capitalist system, businesses attempt to conduct business following the principles of capitalism. If they succeed, they reap the rewards. If they fail, they do not reap the rewards. That is how Republicans always tell me it is supposed to work

Around this time in 2008, Republicans in Congress overwhelmingly rejected a bank bailout. Shortly thereafter began calls for government to take over the automotive sector. This was strongly opposed by Republicans at the time, who pushed to add strings and stipulations to any bill

The action in DC is terrible but it’s a DISTRACTION. It’s intended to stop folks talking about the Epstein Files. The media is falling for it. Do not allow them to do so.

Thank you for retaining some level of sanity and intelligence when it seems like almost everyone else has found the β€œstupid” switch. The inability for folks to think for a moment that tariffs might cause inflationary action is just beyond flabbergasting

You know what’s sad? It’s taken nearly a decade of this nonsense for some folks to start actually pushing back against the ignorance and stupidity that is trying to take over entirely. Why the average person wants to fall for this crap is amazing

Should let Trump explain how it works! Bigly big. His uncle taught at least ten different disciplines at MIT! The way I heard it, he taught the inventors of the Transistor everything they know! In fact, Trump should get the Nobel prize!

Every time in history that a Dear Leader has federalized police and take control, it hasn’t ended well for the population writ large. But I’m sure in this case the politburo will do the right thing and we need not worry at all
