Listen to the podcast to discover the SHOCKINGLY low score we give GHOSTBUSTERS!

(Spoiler it's like 89/100, I just know that some bicep-clutching ghost bro will be outraged that we didn't hit the high 90s)

Guillermo del Toro Brings Out Gods and Monsters in a Lush β€œFrankenstein” | Pittsburgh Magazine It may miss the pulpy punch of the 1931 classic, but there’s plenty to admire in this adaptation.

Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein is good. Bordering on very good.

But it was my DECLARED most anticipated movie of the year, and because it might have been an all-timer with some different decisions, it feels like a bit of a let-down.

Still: Watch it!

We Live in Strange Times, But β€˜Bugonia’ Doesn’t Know How to Handle Them | Pittsburgh Magazine The thriller stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons as the players in an unhinged kidnapping.

I love that Emma and Yorgos are work besties, but I think they both need a break. BUGONIA feels like a movie they were sleepwalking through, so assured that it would work that no one bothered to put in any specific effort. πŸŽ₯

But he also knew DIRECTION. he found his way easily to Haddonfield β€” 150 miles! We can assume that he had an innate sense of the direction of his home, but that adds to the supernatural theory.

We cannot reasonably assume that Myers, a remorseless murderer with an insatiable need to kill, sat patiently with an instructor over a period of time. He lacked the discipline, restraint and comprehension.

We must conclude that Myers has SUPERNATURAL driving knowledge. There is no other option.

Michael Myers initially escapes by stealing a car, despite having been institutionalized since childhood. Loomis speculates that he must, at some point, have received driving lessons.

This is the only explanation β€” and yet! (Continued)

In β€˜The Perfect Neighbor,’ Danger Isn’t Coming to Your Door β€” It’s Already Home | Pittsburgh Magazine The documentary tells the tale of a uniquely American tragedy through real-time footage.

One of the best movies of the year is a harrowing documentary assembled almost entirely from real-time footage. THE PERFECT NEIGHBOR, on Netflix, confronts Americans with an uncomfortable truth about what kind of communities we've built. Essential.
