There's a Grim New Expression: "AI;DR" The slang is a sign of how overrun the internet is with AI slop — and how the real humans using it are fed up.

I still prefer the term “AI Slop” as it seems more appropriate for the #AI generated garage on the web, but I can see “AI;DR” taking off. We’re being overwhelmed with crap we can easily create on our own - and we don’t need to waste out time reading it. futurism.com/artificial-i...

This is the unspoken issue in AI implementation and it’s impacting much more than the creative fields. AI - amazing as it is - is an easy way to avoid hiring and paying entry level employees and interns. Businesses may save money but graduating students will find closed doors to a career path.

The World's First Screenless Laptop Has Arrived. Welcome To The Future Of Computing Technology

A screenless #laptop may be novel but it’s still a solution looking for a problem. Until our #XRGlasses get light years better than they are now, no one is going to use this. And honestly, you could create the same setup on any laptop and have more flexibility.

The Problem With Letting AI Do the Grunt Work Artificial intelligence is destroying the career ladder for aspiring artists.

Will #AI destroy the careers of future #artists. AI will create new forms of creative expression but it’s already destroying the pathways to becoming an artist in any field. Will anyone hire an intern or entry level student when AI can do the job?

You have to stop the constant podcasts. One help for me was getting the new Shokz Openfit 2+ earbuds. Since they are open ear devices and not noise canceling, I use them more and just have music on in the background of my life.

#NYC usually does security right - hey, we do huge events like #NewYearsEve - but the new mayors inauguration is also banning Raspberry Pi and Flipper Zero. WTF? Start banning individual devices and you’re going to have to publish a book of prohibited devices blog.adafruit.com/2025/12/30/n...

Mexican Navy sailboat crashes into Brooklyn Bridge, at least 19 injured: Officials Everyone who was injured was on the boat. Officials said they did not believe the bridge sustained any structural damage.

God, the @newsmedia is pathetic these days. Mexican NAVY training sailing ship hits Brooklyn Bridge in #NYC this evening and media outlets are referring to it as “sailboat” or “party boat.” Have they never even used Wikipedia to check some basic facts? abcnews.go.com/US/mexican-n...

House GOP Proposes Charging $1,000 to Claim Asylum "House Republicans are proposing to charge migrants $1,000 to claim asylum, one of a series of new or increased fees on immigrants seeking to gain legal entry into the United States that is part of

Too bad Native Americans didn't think of charging asylum seekers a $1,000 each to enter what would become the U.S. They would have wiped up monetarily with the Pilgrims and everyone else.

Should have posted a sign on Plymouth Rock - $1,000 to step here.

Apple's reorg of #Siri team might actually result in getting a product out the door. Right now, Siri is an utter embarrassment for #Apple - especially after 2.5 years of #GenAI being around.

A fascinating idea! Clearly, the blowback has been growing - not just to the inadequacies of #AI, but to its potential to upend what we think of as human. AI is hardly going to disappear, but what’s happening with #DOGE may lead to a massive reassessment of its value.

The fallout from the protests at #ColumbiaUniversity continues with the gov’t canceling $400 million in grants and contracts. And the #Trump admin said more cuts will follow. #HigherEd has a rough road ahead for the next four years.

Federal Judge Tells Trump He ‘Is Not a King’ A federal judge reversed the firing of a National Labor Relations Board member by President Donald Trump, with a scathing ruling that said “an American president is not a king,” CNBC reports.

I’ve been waiting for a judge to just come out and say this over the past few months:
