Breakdown, Takedown: Shakedown (2002) Dave takes a deep breath, straps on a seatbelt, and prepares for the craziest of Corman movies.

At the bottom end of that scale is my look at SHAKEDOWN (2002). Ranked 954 out of 954 articles, it's amassed a paltry 248 reads in nearly five years. Poor Ron... it's a good movie!

Yeah. I watched again a few days ago. First time since its release and it works so well, I was very surprised.

Yeah that opening is so meticulously constructed. Nothing in the rest of the film comes close to living up to it, unfortunately.

The tanning salon scene is bad taste funny horrible all the way.

Revisiting… been such a long time… Chucky… all original parts…

Second run section gets my wife’s vote of approval. Looks very pretty.

I certainly like the opening motorway scene of the 2nd. Less impressed by the rollercoaster to be honest.

I liked the visual aesthetic a bit more and the characters in the first, and I dunno, I find it slightly more amusing too, though in fairness they all seem to have a bit of a laugh with the premise.

I enjoyed it well enough. I prefer the original though.

Followed the Fantastic Four movie with a childhood favourite to bring balance to the force…

So I went for the kids to watch it with them with middling expectations and stayed for the mid century modern retro future production design and the film’s big heart.

Watched those un last night. Neat and tidy little thriller. Recommended.
