She's so self-defeating in her anger, it's hilarious. This is a cat who loves nothing more than snuggling with another cat, to the point where Vilma is probably in the wardrobe to get some me-time, but will she snuggle with the others? Well, y, but only after growling to show she doesn't *want* to.

Well when you've moved into a family with two nice grandpas ready to cater to your every whim and then they die off and get replaced by GIRLS who want you to be the big spoon, that's something you don't get over in a hurry. Plus the hot air pump thing, that was a real downgrade in quality of life.

But that just means it could've been a muffin under there, or any kind of cake.

Especially the ganache was excellent, really fresh. I fully expected things to go to hell when adding juice from a whole lemon into the melted white chocolate + cream, but it didn't! On the whole I think there was so much lemon in everything the brown butter aspect of the financier was overpowered.

Whoops, so intent on not forgetting the alt text I forgot the actual post /o\ anyway, last weekend in October = my brother's birthday = duck confit and a lemony dessert, this time lemon financiers with lemon ganache (not pictured because they turned out very ugly) 🍽️

The c-a-r-e with which Senja tiptoed to sit first beside and then right on Isla and then inched herself into a lying position, freezing every time Isla growled at her was my lol of the day.

She's now purring up a storm because Isla admitted defeat and started washing her head.

This is my Helsinki Book Fair haul btw, acquired by asking my mom "can you buy me these books please I would rather die than go there myself (also some chocolate please)."

There was a time when I bought books based on the aesthetic appeal of the cover, with pretty decent luck. But now it seems that either my taste has diverged from that of book designers, or the times are just too dire for, you know, anything other than the title & author.

It's quite obviously farfalle.

Unfortunately Akseli Gallen-Kallela leaves me extremely cold except when he does something very un-Gallen-Kallela-y, which may have colored my view of the whole a liiiittle bit. What little there was of Klimt and Munch I enjoyed, the rest left very little impression.
