I remembered reading the next book in the series (it has ninjas) but it turns out I own that one too.

This is the second time I’ve checked out a library ebook, gone to read it in the Kindle app, and had the app tell me that I already own the book. I have ZERO memory of ever reading this book before. NONE. The first one I knew I had read but forgot I bought. This is a huge WTF.

Reached out to the gifter to say "hey, where ever you were storing that had mice" and got "oh, I regifted that." meaning she got it from someone else, never looked through it, and passed it on, shit and all.
