The way AI has instantly been embraced by so many people feels different, though. I’m seeing it used at work already, and casually asking ChatGPT things seems ubiquitous. As someone who doesn’t, I already feel like a curmudgeon without a TV

If you rub her sides and you can tell there are ribs in there somewhere she's probably in the average range, or if you look at her from above and she seems fairly streamlined

Some cats just have very flappy bellies

I only glimpsed auroras a few times when I lived in Wisconsin, just faint gray streamers, but I vividly remember the way they moved.

I can officially confirm that the snow in NC is roughly one (1) corgi deep

And that's how I got a Bachelor of Science in English

(After a couple changes of major, I was closer to a BS than a BA, so... what the hell. I took a little more random science to finish the requirements, and those were some of my most memorable classes.)

Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college

-Botany (loved learning to ID plants, still use it)
-Entomology (raised hawkmoth caterpillars)
-Creative writing (several variations)
-Agricultural journalism
-Canterbury Tales (concentrated summer session; my last class)

My feed is dominated by sand discourse and it feels very nice.

Almost as nice as very fine sand, which (sometimes) squeaks when you walk on it.

I suppose it's a good moment to mention that the most neglected subdivision of sand is 'very fine' (63-125 Β΅m)

so many people, including some sedimentologists, will just completely skip over 'very fine' and go from silt to 'fine' sand (125-250 Β΅m)

don't forget about 'very fine' sand! 😁

Did you just start The Expanse from the beginning? It's really good, but I've rarely seen anyone find it immediately engaging. The first couple of episodes are almost trying to alienate viewers, which kinda works but requires some effort to get past.
