I can see the appeal to Mewgenics, but like, it's got a lot of flaws, and I think the internet consensus has kinda just run away with it as a 10/10 perfect game and I'm sure it is to a lot of people, but I reckon this is probably more a niche game in all honesty. (And that is okay)

I've been hooked on StarVaders, and there is so much done right. You can figure out what a new card does, and why you would want to use it incredibly easily. It's brisk, there's no delays, music and visuals are great.

I kinda wonder what the critical consensus will be after the dust has settled? I think there's a lot of like, friction, with the readabillity of the screen, and the discoverabillity of how to access specific data. The core gameplay is alright tho.

I think Mewgenics is kinda mid in all honesty. There's some good stuff in there but like, I think I'd rather play my like, 200th run of In to the Breach.

That's exactly the kind of review score spread that I'd hope for in a Grasshopper game. If there aren't some folks absolutely loathing every second, it's not interesting.

I've started a replay of Metal Gear Solid 2 this evening. The game has like a chill vibe. It's like, listen to a radio play and then do some interesting, artisanal action game set pieces. I feel like, even with the out there elements, it has a more grounded feel than like, all subsequent mgs games.

Lot of sorting out boring stuff this week on Hell Tattoo Studio. It is getting back to fun progress tho, but I only have a few more days I can dedicate to it for a bit. Still pushing towards a decent vertical slice.

I'm not a betting man but I reckon Starmer will be gone this week. Anyway videogames.

I struggled a bit with how the lock-on sound should be, but I think it turned out nicely.

This week I've done a lot of work on the drawing and computer vision side of Hell Tattoo Studio. A lot of design issues have been resolved by adding photography. Will likely have something to show over the next few days.
