Wonderful writer. Narrative history that is like reading a pacy novel. I like msny other ACW writers, but reading them can sometimes feel like slogging through the campaigns yourself

Difficult to be anything but happy by Tottenham's start to the season. Good rotation of players; stoic resistance when things go bad; new signings showing quality & first teamers to come back in.

Excellent πŸ‘

I wonder about the message is being sent to Jews in the UK by these people when there are high alerts at all synagogues. Their 'right to protest' is bigger than Jewish safety to them, it appears

God, what drivel

If uiu don't understand something, don't quote it. Watching you trying to wriggle your way out of your own lack of knowledge is painful

If you're going to make asinine historical analogies, stuck to the Nazis. You can manage that, eh?

Cracking, resilient performance from Spurs. Great to see. My nonagenerian Uncle phoned me on final whistle - he was happy

We all know why Nigel Farage is accusing Labour of inciting violence against him while cutting his security. Because if he didn’t, people might remember to ask him who paid for his house in Clacton and why he hangs around with people who take bribes from Russians.

Running stories about Postecoglou facing the sack when he's been in less time than Clough was at Leeds seems a tad perverse from the BBC

Part of the burden of Jewish history is being touched, and proud, that the British police rushed to the site of this atrocity and that the reaction of the British prime minister was to send police reinforcements to synagogues. For millennia, this was not so. It is not taken for granted.

Starmer significantly more popular than Farage in head-to-head polling - LabourList When head to head Starmer and Labour prefered to Farage and Reform by a significant majority.

In 25 days we’ve gone from:

β€œI bought a house” β†’ to β€œwe bought a house” β†’ to β€œIt’s in my partner’s name, β†’ to I have no financial stake.”

Nige it’s time to come clean. Who bought your house?

Nigel Farage doesn’t think the Prime Minister should have free speech in this country. But he’ll tell foreigners that yours is somehow under threat from the Prime Minister. He’s a whiny little liar. Always has been. Always will be.

Keir Starmer shows he is up for the fight The Prime Minister sought to defy doubters with his most authentic and passionate speech

Keir Starmer shows that he is up for the fight – why that was the best and most authentic speech that he’s given as PM. www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-...

Has he considered not doing and saying racist things that would have the net benefit of the PM not being able to point out his policies are racist?

Very good passage on Farage. "Decline is good for their business... When was the last time you heard Nigel Farage say anything positive about Britain's future? He doesn't like Britain... He wants you to doubt it as much as he does."

Starmer's speech won't convince the haters, but it was the best I've seen him give. Repositioned a lot of stuff in a good clear way, had a story to tell and a sense of mission. While I have plenty of nits to pick, it managed to address me not as a commentator, but as a person, which is a rare feat.

Is there a reason I ask that the Times are using a picture of asylum seekers in a boat to describe rules for migrants who came on legal routes such as skilled worker visas for doctors?

30.09.2025 06:08 β€” πŸ‘ 2342    πŸ” 627    πŸ’¬ 36    πŸ“Œ 42

No. Starmer knows rejoining the EU is extremely difficult considering the decision to leave, but wants to move us vliser

Andy Burnham will say anything to advance his bizarre ambitions

You're talking nonsense & frankly its tedious

The image shows two X posts. The first, from Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (15 hours ago), states that the "President" pardoned thousands of insurrectionists on Day One. The second, from Attorney General Pam (1 day ago), declares zero tolerance for political violence and domestic terrorism under President Trump's leadership, announcing the deployment of federal agents to ICE facilities and warning of prison for anyone touching federal officers. The post includes a photo of a woman speaking at a podium with American flags.
