I hope that @mark-carney.bsky.social will introduce bills that require a security clearance for ppl running for leadership positions. Also, we need bills to reduce foreign ownership of our media. Otherwise, we WILL fall to right-wing fascism. #cdnpoli #canpoli #neverPoilievre

Just confirmed this is the third safest seat in the ENTIRE country.

The top three safest seats, based on margins of victory in the most-recent election, are:

Ponoka-Didsbury (margin 71%)
Swift Current-Grasslands-Kindersley, (margin 70.8%)
Battle River-Crowfoot (margin 70.4%)

Canadians will also pay more for Leica cameras as a result of US tariffs Leica’s pricey camera gear is getting even more expensive.

Leica is hitting Canadians with the same 7% increase as Americans, even though Trump’s tariffs don’t apply in Canada.

If you’re buying a camera, avoid Leica until they reverse that decision.

Ford brushes off Conservative MP’s insults
Jenna Benchetrit
Speaking to reporters this morning, Ontario Premier Doug Ford threw some cold water on the ongoing spat between provincial and federal conservatives.

β€œI’m focusing on unity right across this country. We have to bring this country together like we never have before,” he said.

On election night, Conservative MP Jamil Jivani had harsh words for Ford, saying he turned the provincial party into something β€œhollow.” It was the latest exchange in a very public feud between the federal Conservatives and Ford’s camp.

Ford brushed off Jivani’s comments. β€œI’m focused on whoever is going to help Ontario. That’s who I want to work with,” the Progressive Conservative premier said. β€œI don’t give two hoots about political stripes.”

He was also asked whether he’d consider running for leadership of the federal Conservatives. Ford said it’s up to Poilievre and the party to figure out their future, but was mum on his own aspirations. β€œI love my job. I have the best job in the entire world.”

Jamil Jivani on Doug Ford:

"When it was our turn to run an election, he couldn't stay out of our business"

"Trying to position himself as some kind of political genius"

"He's not doing a good job running this province"

"Having coffees and lattes with Mark Carney"

"Hype man to the Liberal Party"

I can share this now. What woke me up last night was a nightmare that Trump called our election rigged, and sent in the troops to "fix" our democracy.

I was awake for a few hours trying to get that one out of my head.

Trump’s trade war has caused nearly a 50% year-over-year drop at West Coast ports.

There’s a supply chain breakdown just like we saw during COVID and we’re about to get slammed with higher prices. P

2) Growth measures (cont'd)

Last one: I'm from the post-sec sector so I'd like to see the feds jump in with some $$ to rescue the researchers stranded by Trump's / DOGE's cuts.

I think that $25MM a year is much too small. Would've liked to see more ambition here.
