Why would I watch a movie about our 3-year-old's bedtime routine?

it was chillier this morning but i feel like taking the time to change and putting on dry clothes i was way less sweaty than when i commute in my work stuff

In some ways I was worried it would undermine my professionalism, but mostly just didn’t want to give people another thing to comment on. The point is, wear what you’re comfortable in to ride. There’s no right thing as long as you’re having fun.

I’ve spent my whole life riding bikes and wearing lycra. I’m very comfortable in it and have worn it in all sorts of places (restaurants, council meetings, etc.) but for some reason have always been averse to walking into the office in it.

Did something new this morning: commuted to the office in lycra. And ya know what? It was fine.

In talking with many of my D16 neighbors, may of us want the same things for our community. I hope folks will set aside their issues with our council member and give this a listen with an open mind.

I think a lot of the (honest) opposition is more about how the council member rolled the proposal. I hope they’ll set their beef with her aside and give this a listen.

i don’t think it’s about shutting people out i think it’s about bringing people in and acknowledging the fear that many folks have about change in their community.

i also know one of the women in this photo to be a very kind and generous person who probably has the same goals for her community as i do. i think the solution for a lot of these folks is better education and outreach about how upzoning helps us achieve those goals.
